I am so glad to be done driving for
awhile. Today was not as easy a drive as it looked on the map. We decided to
head straight for Clearwater from Tallahassee via SR 27 and 19. It looked like
a nice scenic drive on the map. It started out as a beautiful drive on a four lane
parkway through a lovely wooded area. There was logging in the pine forests,
but the traffic was very light – no trucks, yeah!
But, when we got to Port Richey, the
traffic picked up and it took forever to get to Clearwater. We were planning to
stay at my friend, Hildie’s, condo, so she called us about 1 p.m. to see where
we were. We didn’t get there until after 3. Hildie and her friend, Marie, were
waiting for us and we got the grand tour of her condo. She has a gorgeous view
of Clearwater Bay and the Inland Waterway from her sixth floor, two bedroom,
condo. She has it beautifully decorated in ocean themes – seashells, seabirds,
boats & water. Pinks, whites, and light blues dominate her color theme.
There is a nice city parking lot a
block away so we were able to leave the camper there overnight. We had a nice
dinner at Rhumba, a Caribbean restaurant. We ate outside on the patio, so
Mickey was able to join us. It was good and fun.
We were happy to settle in for a good
night’s sleep and ready for more Florida adventures.
