We actually met up with my sister,
Dee Curran, on Wednesday afternoon. We traveled from Clearwater to Dee’s office
in Wesley Chapel. We had to pull her away from her desk, but she was motivated
because she is planning to move and we were here to help!
We started out at her current
apartment and spent an hour helping do some packing and putting things in her
car and our camper to move to the new place. Don took her electronics apart and
we were able to put all of that in the camper.
We left everything, including Don and
the camper at her new apartment in Port Richey, and Dee and I went to choir
practice! Dee plays in the bell choir, so I got to listen to them practice.
Then they have choir rehearsal, so I got to sing and Dee played the flute. It
was so much fun – I really do miss it when I don’t get in a lot of singing.
Thursday
was the big moving day and Dee had it very well organized. We stayed at her new
apartment and were able to park and stay in our camper. We went out for a quick
breakfast and then stayed in the apartment to let people in and out. The movers
brought her furniture about 11 a.m. Dee had stayed in her old place to get them
organized and brought another load in her car. Then the cable guy came and
spent a couple hours getting all that stuff organized. Then the washer guy came
to deliver and install her new washer and dryer. Just when we thought we could
go out to run errands, Dee’s daughter, Colleen Curran, called and asked for directions from her home in Wellborn
FL. So, we waited while Dee talked her in to the new location. She was coming
to help with the move and to do some work in Dee’s office.
Colleen eventually arrived with her
big Labrador mix dog, Ghost, and we had a great time organizing animals before
we could go out to eat and do errands. We finished the day by going back to the
old apartment, finishing the packing and a little cleaning. Needless to say,
bed looked pretty good that night!
Friday,
Don and I stayed around to do little jobs for Dee; Dee and Colleen went to her
office to do big jobs for her company; and cat and two dogs stayed in their
respective spaces. We all met up for dinner with the Dombroskis at 6 at The
Gathering Place in Lutz FL. We had a nice visit with my niece, Christy, her
husband, Chad, and their three boys – Jake, Logan, and Joshua. After dinner we
went back to the Dombroski’s lovely two story, 4 bedroom house in a gated
community in Lutz. The development is very woodsy, with many lakes and streams. Mickey had a great time with
the boys and we adults enjoyed playing Apples to Apples. Oh, I should mention
that we were also celebrating Don and Dee’s birthdays!
